When it comes to 2011 nail designs, you have loads of options as far as colors and things like that go. In fact, you have so many options, it may be hard to decide on which one is the best for you!

First of all, you can choose between real nails or fake nails. Make sure that if your nails are really, really thin that you choose to let them grow and strengthen some before you start designing your nails. What you do to your nails beforehand is much more important than what you decide to do with them afterwards.

You can choose between going to the salon, or you can have your nails done at home in the comfort of your own home. It’s up to you what you decide to do, but remember that most salons are full of chemicals that may trigger asthma attacks in asthma sufferers. It may be safer to work on your nails at home in a well-ventilated area.

Nail art pens and nail glitter are both excellent things to have with you when you are planning on designing your own nails. You can also look into buying nail decals which will greatly reduce the time in which you are designing your nails.

A few popular designs are the reverse manicure, which features one color on your nail tips and then another complete opposite color on the actual nail. There is also the half moon which is where the area just before the cuticle is painted. You can also ask for flowers if you have your nails painted—this is one of the most common 2011 nail designs and is very easy to do.

You have loads more options than you might think—you only need the right tools!

If you enjoy painting and re-painting your nails on a consistent basis, you must take special precautions to make sure that you are keeping your nails healthy. Oftentimes, when people constantly have a coat of nail polish on, they miss warning signs of unhealthy nail growth. Therefore, it’s important to adhere to the following guidelines in order to ensure that you have the healthiest possible nails.

1. Avoid acetone as much as possible While this is largely necessary to remove acrylic nails, it is not necessary to remove nail polish. Therefore, for simple removal procedures use a milder form of nail polish remover which is acetone free.

2. Biotin encourages healthy hair and nail growth. Therefore, taking a biotin supplement will keep nails thicker and will reduce the likelihood of breakage. Minerals such as iron and zinc can also strengthen your nails significantly. Some nail-healthy foods that are excellent to consume include beans, nuts, whole grains, and poultry.

3. Cuticle care is an absolutely must as your cuticles protect nail roots from forming infection. Never remove cuticles, instead, simply push them back after a shower or after you moisturize. It is easiest to do this when your hands are well moisturized rather than when they are dry.

4. Disinfecting your manicure and pedicure tools is an important step in reducing the likelihood of infection. It is important to sanitize your cuticle and clipper tools after each use. Furthermore, nail files should only be used a few times before they are replaced.

Years have passed since French manicure was introduced to us; it is still considered as a real classic and genuinely iconic. As of today, a lot of women opt for French manicure for its natural and clean look that it gives off. But, before anything else, what do we know about a French manicure? Well, it is a nail polishing style in which white colored polish will be applied unto the tips of ones fingernails, while the rest are coated with pink or sheer light beige or pale pink polish. French manicure is quite ideal for short nails, as well as nails that have moderate length.

However, before giving yourself a set of French manicured nails, be certain that you will follow its general rules upon applying on some nail polish.
First things first, with an acetone remover, remove old nail polish. Afterwards wash and clean your hands and nails and trim them.

When tidying up and trimmings are done, you can proceed with applying the base coat to your fingernails. Always keep the base coat even and thin. After that, put on a tip guide on top of your nail, you can then apply white colored polish upon the exposed fingernails tips, and then just let them dry.
As soon as the white polish is dry, thoroughly remove the tip guides, and then for the whole length of your fingernails paint them with pale pink or beige polish. You may need two coats for this. The last step to achieving your fabulous French tip manicure is simple applying on a top coat, let your nails dry and then that is it.
